HYBRID FUEL ENGINE ROCKET - Senior Capstone

My Senior Capstone is to design and build a hybrid fuel engine rocket system. The goal is to successfully undergo fire static testing and eventually exceed a thrust force greater than 250 lbs. The design of the rocket will be made using SolidWorks, MatLab, and through Additive Manufacturing. The thrust will be measured through a loadcell via LV-1000. The pressure will be recorded through the data acquisition system, LabJack.

MECH 598 ELECTROMECHANICAL ENGR PROJECT

This project involved designing a system that transported a 1”x1” cube, including a sensor and an interface to control speed, connected to a FANUC Robot. I 3D Modeled this system using SolidWorks, imported into the Roboguide Software to be configured. An additional code was created in Arduino to simulate the back and forth motion of the system. The system was manufactured through preordered parts and additive manufacturing. Finally, it was connected to a FANUC 200iC Robot, programmed using a Teaching Pendant.

MECH 310 & MECH 410 ROPE CLIMBING ROBOT

The project statement was to create a biomimicry-based robot that can effectively and repeatedly climb a horizontal rope with a set target speed of 2-3 inches per second. Different iterations of CAD modeled were designed using SolidWorks. Since manufacturing took place the following semester in another class and with a different group, a different design was manufactured using an 3D prints from an Acrylic Cutter and a 3D Printer.

Redesigned Final Product During Demonstration

In a team, I dimensioned and 3D Modeled the Chassis of the Baja Lions Racing Car in efforts to pinpoint stresses and supports through SolidWorks. I then collaborated in the dynamic testing of the car at Jawbone Canyon to prepare for the SAE Oregon Competition.

MECH 322 FLUID MECHANICS FINAL PROJECT

Using MATLAB, a piping system was designed and calculated to deliver water to three hypothetical villages. This project was given parameters such as length, elevation, and water transferred as well as restrictions such as environmental friendly pipe material.

MECH 355 METHODS OF APPLIED MATHEMATICS

In a team of four, we calculated the correlation between coral reef deterioration and the ocean’s temperature using Fourier Series on MATLAB. After researching and finding data sets of ocean temperatures every month over the span of ten years, we determined cyclic growth and deterioration rates.

MECH 211 COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN FINAL PROJECT

In a team of 2, we created a 3D model assembly composed of five individual components using GD&T Tolerancing on SolidWorks.

ENGR 160 ALGORITHMS AND APPLICATIONS - FINAL PROJECT

Wrote a program using functions to predict housing prices and solve other real-world applications using Machine Learning through MATLAB.
